Many players ask why Zynga shut down Cuba, Moscow and Bangkok. Even more ask if they will ever return. David Reedy provides us with an explanation and valuable insight to these questions on this Get Satisfaction thread.

who is david reedy? new zynga guy?
ReplyDeleteSounds like half BS and half truth. I'm going to guess since players are leaving in droves, MW isn't generating a lot of money. More devs are focused on farmville or whatever makes Zynga money. It takes time and money to keep up the older cities and they are not as well developed as the new cities nor as satisfying. Bangkok needed to go. They clearly didn't think that one out. So, instead of improving it, they close it.
ReplyDeleteThey query MW and realize most have completed cuba and moscow, slowed down for bangkok. They should have announced it was going to be closed a month in advance. INstead, they BS around it, then spring the suprise on people. Bet on Vegas closing. The Italian village offers some benefit (port) and diversity, so I wager that would be last to go after vegas but probably would be left intact, with brazil. They are trying to herd the last remaining players into the few districs.
I noticed recently, except for New York, all the cities that you could actively "Farm" specific loot with reasonable drops rates are now closed. You could loot 501, without too much trouble, decent loot for your level. Now those cities that are left are mostly random loot drops and you really can't "Farm" for a specific item.

I wonder which security holes may have been there...
Looks like the post has been removed due to 'discussion of security holes/expolits'.
ReplyDeleteThey nuked to topic, allegedly because it was discussing security holes. If you know the answer to this question I'd love to know why those cities were closed.
ReplyDeleteThe thread seems to have been removed.
