Martin of Team Spockholm updates the Family Rank Spreadsheet everyday and it lists the Top 50 Families in various categories. You can also pull up your own Families rank to compare. Go here for instructions on how to do it. Mike Nestor did a run and created a current spreadsheet that lists all registered Families in Mafia Wars and has links to their Family Page. There are a total of 8,000 Families. He will run it again down the road to see if the new Family Progress feature causes a lot of new Families to be created. To view the spreadsheet, go here.

btw. loolady, lately I noticed you and a great many other people are getting dissatified with MW and I think I know the reason...and the reason is not event fatigue, Zynga is only doing their job to keep you playing everyday, cos' once you quit for even a week or two you probably won't be returning...no, the reason why MW now sucks for you but it didn't suck at the beginning where it was is...in the beginning you and almost nobody else bough RPs, therefore everything you got and achieved in the game was for free, now you are buying RPs like crazy (don't tell me you aren't, you are platinum after all) and since you're investing money, perhaps even a lot of money, in the game, you are expecting some BANG FOR YOUR BUCK, much much more bang than a facebook game such as mafia wars can offer for this buck...that iis the reason why MW now sucks and it didn't before, before you got everything for free, now you buy it (while not achieving a higher value than it was for free), so of course you are dissatisfied...I'm not bitchin' I am just saying the reason which I think is true, don't misjudge me...
ReplyDeleteI can't speak for anyone else, but one of the things that has made the game less interesting for me is the lack of challenge. Now it's nothing more than click, click, click. When I started you had to farm for top loot and had to plan ahead. Bangkok was the last city that you could actually farm loot. Since Bangkok, the loot drops are somewhat random. That's why I changed over to fighting. And I've pretty much stoped actively doing that, just use a script since this game has become totally mindless without the need for any kind of planning your moves. Plus the pop-ups really highly irritate me to no end. I'm still playing, sort of, but with all the stupidity from Zynga I really don't see myself playing more than a few months or just into next year without some serious restructuring of this game.
ReplyDelete@anonymous 1: I disagree. I have never purchased RPs and I am getting fed up with the game. I have played for over 2 years, but I am getting overloaded with all the events. Their removing 3 out of 12 items I received from wars is the final straw. Come on, having 12 items was 'abnormal' behavior? I filed a BBB complaint, so we'll see what comes of that.
