Last Days Of Summer Marketplace Promotion

Share:

The Last Days Of Summer Home Page Module was a 24 hours off but we expect that from Zynga. The new banner comes with the news that Reward Point purchases are 50% off.

Before
After
As far as Reward Points are concerned, you won't find a better deal than this.
The confusing part is that some players got a popup saying "50% OFF Reward Points 8/26 ONLY". The Home Page Module clearly states that "RP purchases are 50% off !  Buy 15 Items from the Marketplace* to get the powerful Aurora! Offer ends August 29th at 10:00pm PDT". That's a bit misleading if the 50% off Reward Point purchases is only good for today.  I didn't get this one so hopefully they decided it was wrong and pulled it.
You will get a popup that notifies you of the promotion.
You can't miss it when you arrive to the Marketplace from the "Go to Sale" buttons shown above. If it looks familiar, that's because it's like all the other Marketplace Promotions before it.
If you didn't get there by all the ways mentioned above, you will see a "Last Days Of Summer" tab.
As well as a icon on top of the Game Header.
The concept is simple. Buy an item in the Marketplace that costs more than 5 Reward Points (excludes Loyalty Program, Fight Club, Pawn Shop, and Treasure Chest Keys).
And you get a mark on your progress ticker.
Once you get all 15 spots on your ticker filled, you get the Aurora.
Spamming might not be the best idea right now. There are too many unhappy players and they will blame you for Zynga's recent actions and claim that buying Reward Points only makes the situation worse. You may want to click the cancel button on this one. The post is no good anyways as it only directs your mafia to the Marketplace.
The bad news is items outside of the Marketplace don't do anything to the ticker. Making a purchase to speed up your crafting timer doesn't count.
Purchasing Energy or Stamina refills outside the Marketplace is a no go as well. Zynga has said on multiple occasions that these are bugs but they happen every single time. It's a pain to travel to the Marketplace and most strategic players use their Reward Points to purchase Crafting Speedups. They really should fix this as it looks like false advertising on their part.
In the Marketplace you will find things on sale that actually move your ticker.  Right away you will notice "Hourly Doorbuster Items". So far it's all useless junk that you shouldn't waste Reward Points on.
Here is something useful..Sniper Scopes are 50% off yet they pulled The Raven and who knows when we will ever see him again.
Now Skill Points are on sale which you don't see very often. Since Crafting Speedups don't count, this may be a reasonable option (depending on what items you craft).
If your in this for the loot, the cheapest way to get your ticker moving is to buy a single Crate. They are on sale for 6 Reward Points each. Don't buy the triple crates as they are no longer a better deal and will only move your ticker one spot. If you really wanted that Space Monkey, now is your chance to go for it as Space Crates are still available.
If you really wanted that Space Chimp, now is your chance to go for it as Space Crates are still available.
The Market Promotion will end Monday August 29th at 10PM PDT. There is plenty of time to fill your ticker and you never know what good deals may come around.

Thanks to Ingvar for the 50% Off Reward Point popup.
