A Faster Facebook

Share:

For some reason Facebook does not always close out your sessions when you log off. This can cause things to run slower for you. Follow the instructions below to manually close out your sessions and get a faster Facebook.

1.  Go to your Account Drop Bar and select Account Setting.
2.  Look in the upper left hand corner and select Security.
3.  Look at the "Active Sessions" category to see if you have more than one open session. In addition to my current session, I had 4 additional open sessions. God only knows where all those came from. Now click on edit.
4.  A list of your current session and all other active ones will appear. Click on End Activity to close the sessions you are no longer using. I had one open that was over 10 days old.
5.  When you remove all of your unwanted sessions, click the close button and you will notice that Facebook is a lot faster.

  3. Thanks so much! Wondering if you could find out how to end extra "Recognized Devices", too? My page is showing 23 of them, some dating back to last year. Obviously this is excessive with only one Smart Phone.

I tried but was only able to remove one Recognized Device from last year, is there a trick to this I'm (obviously) overlooking? TIA

  5. It's back but got worse. I noticed a few days ago (after getting annoyed with rotating bullets) I have 9 open sessions - but I can't close them. I keep trying every few hours, to no avail.

  6. Jennifer...I was able to close those irritating active sessions when you first told us about this fix, now I have 8 sessions open and they won't close. Can you help out?
