I picked a good time to go off line and have some fun. I found when I was away, Zynga changed the domain of mafiawars.com to mafiawars.zynga.com. This seems simple and innocent enough but the outcome was it broke all the helping tools that many of us rely on to play the game.

I've completed all the regions now. I was going to carry on with Mafia wars, but they have made it awkward at a time when I was considering leaving it.
Think Zynga have made my mind up for me!!
Great. My favorite is gone and I do not remember the name of it. Came out when the new fight module came out but before the A-N-Ater. One-click banking, one-click fighting and a handy toolbar within the game. :/

ReplyDeleteIt was actually fun to play last night when they were all broken. I could actually look at and *think about* who I wanted to attack on the fight list before all targets were iced. I could click on a "help in war" link and actually had time to look at the reward to decide if it was one I wanted and still help before the war was over. I was able to go through the newsfeed and provide help or collect rewards without them all being gone. All of which now puts me firmly in the camp of "I don't know" about script use in general.
ReplyDeleteDo I use scripts? Yes. They're certainly time savers, but I use them primarily because it's the only way to remain at least somewhat competitive with the many, many others who are using them.
Would it bother me if they all went away? After last night's experience during the brief period where none were working, I'd have to say No - as long as they ALL went away for EVERYONE.
So perhaps there's both heresy and hypocrisy in that - but with all due respect to Team Spockholm and all the others who have put the time and effort into all of these helpers, there's certainly a part of me that now believes the game at large might be better without them.

so I used MW unlocked toolbar that sat in the game and ran spocklets without having to unframe. The website www.unlockedMW.com is gone. anyone know if that toolbar is being maintained anywhere else
ReplyDeleteYou would have a point if Zynga would code some common sense things into the game: easier mass gifting, easier job completion, better management of large amounts of stamina, better item management, less retarded limitations.
