I was able to obtain some images and information of what we can expect for the new Fight Module. Some players will start to see the changes on their accounts tonight. As stated in Mafia Wars Live, it will take about a week for the roll out.
MAFIA WARS FIGHTING V2
We are rolling out our biggest feature this quarter by giving Fighting, one of our core game actions, a major and sexy upgrade. We’re putting the fun in fighting this summer, so turn up the ices* and stay cool.
Summary of What is New
Fighting gets redesigned When you attack another player on the Fighting page of any destination, you’ll get a fight results screen that makes it easier to follow your progress in a fight and ice your opponents. The new screenview makes it easier to finish fights without needing to scroll up and down to find new opponents.Icing Separates the Winners from the weak fighters! Ice players to become the strongest Mafia Wars player. Opponents get iced when their health dips below 20 points in a fight. Repeated attacks wear down your opponent’s health. Opponent’s health menu bar added This is the biggest addition to fighting. For the first time, you’ll be able to see a visual indication of how much damage you are doing and how close you are to icing your opponent.
New fight loot and bigger boosts Win fights to gain new items and use 2 new boosts to help you in your fights. You can send attack or defense boosts to friends that will be a percentage of your overall attack/defense points. For power fighters, this will be a huge boost. You can also choose to turn boosts on and off during a fight. Each boost can be used only once.

Get Revenge
You work hard to ice an opponent, but sometimes your ice gets stolen by another player. Now you can get revenge when someone swipes your ice. Attack that player and get your ice back! 
Kills now equal 2 Ices
Get rewarded for killing your opponent with 2 ices. Now killing someone is twice as nice.

Well Done Jen and Mike, thanks for the info. I won't get too excited though. Anytime there is a revamp of something like this, major glitches are sure to follow closely behind. I will BOLO for it soon then! Looks promising!

ReplyDeleteWelll I have had a chance to experience this first hand and I think it would work if Zynga also took the time to break up the shark tank into tiers...... I find it very hard to kill /ice someone that is 3 4 and sometime 8x my level.... how is it fair? I've had a hard enough time killing before but now it's next to impossible.

Posting one ice every eight hours is probably one of the better features. Less spam on my wall to fight through - some clowns post every single ice, making it impossible to help with wars, missions, etc. As to the rest of it, we'll see.

ReplyDeleteWell anything that stops people using Brawler is a good thing in my books. Brawler gives users too great an advantage and is already the main cause of stealing someone elses ice. If you dont want to play manually then dont play. And dont winge about how long it would take you to burn 3000 stamina - boo hoo.

ReplyDeleteI like it..problem is as I am reading..players who have this new fighting format have not downloaded the new Unlocked MW Toolbar that sits inside you MW game..and works with this new format...makes game awesome. I have it and my play is awesome. It has auto clicking for attacks and doing jobs..and auto heal. Perhaps getting the toolbar will be the trick. Yes..Brawler is down..but it always is for a short time when Zynga makes a change in their format. I have included info and the link to download the toolbar.

The toolbar has icons to the right. From Right to Left they are Energy, Stamina, Health, Facebook, and a Plane. When you click on them they turn Green. Once Green they will do the job automatically. For instance if you click on the Stamina icon and it is Green when you go to attack someone it will do all the clicks for you until you get the ice. Also if you have the health icon click green it will auto heal for you. So what I do when I am fighting is I keep the stamina and health icon clicked green.
If you are doing jobs and you do not want to click click click, then you highlight the Energy icon green and it will do the job for you once you click the job you want done.
The Facebook icon is for posting you ices. If you are one who likes to post EVERY ice. The highlight that icon green. Every time you get get an ice, it will post it automatically give you the pop up screen to post. I think..(don't quote me here as I have not tried it yet) from here you tell it to post. I am not one to post every ice to my wall..but I do like to copy and paste my ices to my clans war page...so I would use this feature to do that. I have to try this one out and see if it stops at the pop up or not.
The screwdriver and wrench...this is nifty..but I think it still has bugs. In here you can preset where you want to have your ices posted. Here is a link to show you all about how to work this entire toolbar.

Just for the screwdriver and wrench info, scroll down to How to Post Your Ices to Fan pages. I tried it out using the numbers and nothing got posted to my war page. So I am thinking I am going to have to use the name. It is all trial and error. Learning...
Here is the link to download the toolbar. Depending on if you are using Chrome or Firefox. Pick the one to download. From what I am reading on the blogs...people are downloading it and still using the old fight page. I do not know how it is working out though. I just know it is fabulous with the new fight page. I hope I have explained it all well enough. The box that says Tools on the left is self explanatory when you get this tool bar. If you have any more questions...please do not hesitate to ask. I know I can be confusing. Enjoy your game...and I cannot wait till they get Brawler back up and running...I do know that Aruns is working on it 24/7. And Spokholms are working on their Scripts as well. Yea.
