Share:

There is some more information on The Big Payoff which was mentioned on the Official Mafia Wars Blog in the first installment of  This & Next Week. We are told The Big Payoff is a limited time job that will cost 1,000 energy per click. You will only get the opportunity if you have 2,000 energy points or more in your energy pool and you can master it 25 times. The mastery loot item is a vehicle called Thin Ice and has stats of 150/100. I guess Brazil can wait. For To learn more go here.
If you have 2,000+ energy points, you’ll get a shot at mastering The Big Payoff, where you got to SPEND BIG if you want to WIN BIG. (It costs 1,000 energy each time you click “Do Job”. Now may be a good time to use your energy packs!) For completing The Big Payoff you will receive the Rare vehicle, Thin Ice (150 Attack/100 Defense), and attack, defense, and experience points! The Big Payoff is a limited-time event during which you can master the job to earn Thin Ice up to 25 times.

  6. wow, not unfair at all :/ so when's the loot event for ONLY the players w/ over 10k attk/def? don't understand why Z's so intent on getting all the fighters out of the game w/ all the crap they keep pulling against us

  7. I built up my stamina because the best loot was found in fighting, now they go and change it up. Come on Zynga, if this game is about strategy then you have to be CONSISTENT so my strategy choice actually makes sense!

  8. meh - those same energy accounts have squat for atk/def so why worry about them. Let them collect the pretty pixels and some points - they will need them bad when they fall on the fight list

  9. According to the Mafia Wars Blog post, this kinda makes sense. Many players with that much energy may not be that strong, so these boosts will help those players. It's different, but helpful in the same way that Energy Packs help people that don't have very much Energy. People who have a lot of Energy don't need the Energy Packs OR they're wasted since they push you to the next level.

  10. I'm glad I both fight and do jobs so I've got a sort of "balance" and cope really good in all events. Seems like a very good strategy for getting all items. Couldn't think of only taking part of one aspect of the game.

  11. I do not understand all the whiners everywhere...

You keep on listening to way too many of these people that call themselves "fighters" to build your accounts.

About a year and a half ago some of us who were playing the game for a while, realized that the best strategy to the game is to first get to 10K energy with some moderate health, stamina, attach and defense.

We devised a plan that it will have most people in about 2 years, with 1OK attack, defense, stamina and energy and about 2500 health w/o spending a dime. With daily play you can cut the time to 18 months.

In 8 months we reached the 10K mark in energy; for me it was Feb 22):

    Lvl: 2163
    Att: 1590
    Def: 1590
    Health: 2153
    Energy: 10008
    Stamina: 2080

Since then and by maximizing what the game offers at dif times we get about 600-650 skill points a week, (that does not include the mini pack Party time, as we called it) and using a ratio of Attack = stamina + 1000 = defense +2000, we split every skill point btw att/def/sta.

My account today (4 months later to the day) stands at:

    Lvl: 3149
    Att: 5800
    Def: 3794
    Health: 2402
    Energy: 10415
    Stamina: 4800

Sometime in November I will reach the targeted 10K in all categories and keep on going, surpassing any “fighter” non-CC account and even a lot of the CC accounts, because they are not able to get multiple free skill points from leveling 10-15 times a day. Show me a single non-CC Fighter account with those stats, even in att, def and def. I can only imagine what my stas would have looked like if I was a platinum CC player, using this method.

I still have more that 1.5 mil fights (fight lvl 52), max robbery in a short time, max very easily new FHEL (usually 2 weeks), easily farm Job loot and no matter what fighting or energy event out there it takes a day or 2 to finish.

SO PLEASE STOP LISTENING TO THE IDIOTIC ADVICES about putting a lot of skill points in att and def at the early stages of the game.

PS. The only thing that gets affected in your game if you follow our strategy is your fighting stats, which look pretty bad the first few months, if you do not care to hide under 20 health. In the first 8 months I had over 500K losses and about as many wins, (mainly from people attacking me). Since then I have now 980K wins and 605K losses.

  13. not making these events avbl across the player base does Zynga no service. As crappy as the USA only events and achievements.
Could they not make these sort of events on a percentage basis? Instead of a flat 1000 energy per click, make it say 20% of your total for each click. Fair for all?
They already have a sliding scale for energy requirements per job depending on your level don't they? Should be similar deal for this event.

  14. @the Anonymous quote above mentioning stats, and how to Level/Play. I agree with many of your thoughts. I'm pretty much self-taught, and heard all the talk about putting Skill Points into Attack and Defense early on, but felt if I could level up faster, then I could work on that later, which is what I'm doing. Still, I didn't get up to the 10000 mark you spoke of:

    Now:
    Level 1807
    Attack: 4165
    Defense: 4039
    Energy: 5803
    Stamina: 2049
    Health: 1798

I'm wondering what the overall Attack and Defense scores count towards, because they don't seem like much.

  15. The best strategy for RPG's in general is not to level to fast, why would I need 10k energy? I play this game since november last year, level 878 at the moment,2172 energy, and finished all jobs available before the new regions in Brazil. I only got rid of the darn energy by participating in operations from Mafia for weeks. I don't need or want to complete everything in an hour from release, what's the point rushing an endless game?

    ReplyDelete
  16. Just to put my 2 cents in ...lol...i don't see much strategic advantage of having high health, i am at level 1400+ and has 600+ health only, stronger players who attack you will result in lots of loss fights and my target is to keep my loss fights below 100K as long as possible.

    ReplyDelete
  17. True that, keep your health low. About as high as it takes to reset the timer on healing, more than enough. Don't feed the fighters lol :)

    ReplyDelete
  18. to one of the above who said "Whats the point in rushing an endless game?"...well, the point is you are strong and have fun while the game lasts, you seriously don't think that MW will last few more years do you? It'll all be about few dedicated players next year and will the year after that...I mean within the next 10 probably even facebook itself will be dead and we will have a new, even better socializing site...so that's the point to be strong and have fun while it lasts

  19. Level 940
    Attack: 5280
    Defense: 5030
    Energy: 870
    Stamina: 1150
    Mafia Attack Strength 160K+
    Mafia Defense Strength 158K+
    --------------------------------
agree with post above that said "why would I need 10k energy?" lol

  20. everyone should have an opportunity to participate in events and it's not right that we just flat-out aren't allowed to participate b/c we're not high in energy, i gear towards fighting but still am only about 300 short of being able to participate.. this game's geared towards energy players in a lot of ways anyway, brazil takes ages for most fighters.. and the icing event (1k ices) wasn't any harder (in fact, prob easier) for e-ho's since most have a ton of stam as well.. i don't see why e-ho's should have special priveleges, most of them have more ices/fights than the ppl who play to fight b/c they've had brawler on for 6 months at a time lol.. and the fighters have been screwed into pretty much being done w/ the game now that our fight screen's a joke, so again, why should they get special privileges??

    ReplyDelete
  21. Why do people only want to choose one of two paths? I really don't see the point to invest everything in one part of the game and not enjoy it all.

    ReplyDelete
  22. "the point is you are strong and have fun while the game lasts"

I know, but there will always be someone stronger to kick your ass. Doesn't matter if you're level 100 or level 1000.If you rush this game with high energy, you only get the +5 most of the time on levelling. If you take it slow and get as many points possible, like +20 per level, you'll be a rock. There are not many players on my level or even a hundred up who can beat me ;)

    ReplyDelete
  23. Have this job now. It is buggy. Takes 1000 energy. Sometimes you get 2000xp. Sometimes you get no XP at all. Mastery ranges from 1-9% for me. I will not be finishing it.

    ReplyDelete
  24. i have it too. like the last anonymous. as he/she said, by each click you can get 4 things. +5 attack, +5 defense, 2000 EXP, NOTHING! after clicking 9 times, i got 2000 EXP, +5 Attack, 7 NOTHINGS!!! this sucks. the funny thing is that the timer shows 3 Days, 3 hours, 12 mins and 18 secs right now. so, the question, can anyone get this item 25 times?! btw, the mastery is between 1-10% percent which means you may need at least 10 clicks=10k energy to master once, OR 100 cliks=100k energy to master once. means the average is 55K energy to master ir each time. which means 55,000 x 25 = 1,375,000 !!!!! so we need 1,375,000 energy in 3 days. who says it's impossible?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  25. now after spending 18000 energy the mastery is 34. so let's change the average mastery from 5% to 2%, which i fact, it's lower than 2! i'm lucky if i get just 1 !!!!!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Energy
    49/24043
spent this 2 times complete (as I could level with stamina in between) and still only at 84% first time, pfffffffffffffff.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I am at 50% now, only have 4225 energy. Since hitting 29% have only got 1% each time (aka last 21k points)
