By now most of us should have noticed that the Declare War feature has changed.
Lets take a closer look at "NEW Damage". It explicitly states that our skills will determine how much damage we do.
It's kind of cool when you do splash damage or get a double kill.
Not so much when you lose. You can't expect to win them all, there is always somebody stronger than you in Mafia Wars. Even when you lose, you still do damage and that counts for helping in a war.
I took at closer look and was a little confused that my target was a level 338 and I'm a level 2098. If it's based on skills, it is possible that this player has more skills than I do.
I started seeing players complain about losing like this on the
Mafia Wars Loot Lady Fan Page. Karan who is a level 3000+ lost to a player who is a level 659. Some players got the Mafia Wars profile link for their image on the War Page and found they could easily beat them. If you want to learn how to do that, go
here. I think you will notice a similarity in war attacks and tournament attacks.
To make this claim that attacks are based on skills even worse is many players are losing to Hired Guns. Hired Guns will appear as Top Mafia members for players who haven't added a live player to their Top Mafia. Many players with plenty of "skills" are losing to them. Smoky McPott and Hvedeknoppen Styrer posted images of losing to a Hired Gun. Zynga needs to fix this or define what this "based on your skills" is all about. In the end it doesn't matter as you still get credit for helping and therefore a loot reward item but nobody likes to see they lost, especially to a Hired Gun.
Please correct me if i am wrong, But i thought a hire gun carries the same skill and equipment as you carry, the only problem using the in your top mafia, is they do not carry the experienced Fights, or jobs stats that you have,that is why nobody wants them in their top mafia, you get no percentage increase ?????

I have a level 25 dummy account that I use only for gifting and so on, even with it I have been able to take out players thousands of levels ahead of me. Even two at a time.
