Smoke And Mirrors Mission Walk Through

Share:

Like all Missions, you won't miss this one when it makes it to your account. Your Mission Bar will be full of activity and there will be another page on your Current Events Module. This one takes you to Brazil and you are going to need to burn a lot of energy or spend Reward Points. Overall, I'm not sure it's worth all this work for one loot item. I guess if you are finished with everything, it will keep you busy and give you something to blow your energy and stamina on.
 Part One
Interference
Fight 22 opponents in Brazil, clear 2 robbing boards, build two vehicles and you're done. You can clear the two robbing boards in any destination. There is an 18 hour wait between crafting items in the Chop Shop.
The loot rewards aren't any good but this is only the first part. You get 3 12 Gauges and 3 Grizzly Bears. Who wouldn't want to take a Grizzly Bear to a fight?
 Part Two
Might and Magic
Everybody hates the "Get Support From Your Mafia" task. Make life easier on yourself by using the Link-a-Nator or the Mission Crew Link bookmarklets by Team Spockholm.
While you wait, go to your fight page and take out all 12 Angry Cult Members. Each one will cost you 8 stamina to attack. The good news is you can't lose!
Do the job "Burn Down a Jungle Hideout", located in District 2 of Brazil, 12 times and collect your rewards. If you mastered Brazil on the Ruby Level, this will cost you 243 energy a pop for a total of  3,510 energy.
The loot rewards are old has been fighting loot items not worth adding to your current piles of junk.
Part Three
Hexed?
Do the Brazil job, "Smuggle a Shipment Through Aeroporto de Belem" 20 times. That's gonna cost you 4,860 energy if you fully mastered District 2.
A small run on Brawler can kill the next two objectives with one stone. Win 15 fights and loot 15 Luggage Bags at the same time. The drop rate of Luggage Bags was great. I probably did some over kill on this one.
The loot reward is another piece of junk called the Box Jellyfish. I don't want or need 1 Box Jellyfish, what do they want me to do with 8?
Part Four
Destruction
Instead of Mission Crew members, we need to ask for Brazil Crew members. This is much easier as we an generate a post for our news feeds. Make sure you have 8 open slots in your Brazil Crew or you won't get credit for clicks past vacant slots. If you don't have enough, fill your current bonus slots.
Click on the "Ask" button and a post for the news feeds will be generated.
While you wait, go to District 1 in Brazil and do the job "Ask an Informant About Local Crime Activity".
You need to loot 12 Documents. The drop rates are pretty good. Make sure you activate your Lockpick bonus to get credit for double the loot. There are no loot rewards for Part Four of this Mission.
Part Five
Get Even
There is a lot to do in Part Five, but it's not as bad as it looks. Start by crafting one item from your Black Market in the Brazil Holdout.
Now kill two birds with one stone by doing a robbing run in Brazil. You need to perform 20 successful robberies and loot 10 Manila  Using Robber BG by Team Spockholm, I was able to get 10 with a little over 1,000 stamina.
The last task requires you to do the job, "Blackmail a Cathedral Representative", located in District 1 of Brazil 25 times. This will cost a total 3,375 energy if you have fully mastered this District.
The loot rewards are a little better but won't be active in my inventory.
Part Six
Public Flogging
Use the same link you used in Part One and ice 3 people in Brazil. I was hoping this was the last part but it doesn't look like it as there is no loot item for a reward.
Part Seven
Hedge Funds
Another two tasks in one with robbing. You need to rob 16 Headquarters in Brazil and loot 1 Bundles of Dynamite. Why they want to keep bringing things back that we don't need remains a mystery. I haven't tried gifting the ones I own to see if it counts but I don't think that will be necessary. By the time you rob the Headquarters, you should have all the dynamite you need.
Now do the job, "Demolish a Rooftop Helipad", in District 4 of Brazil. If you're fully mastered this job costs 594 energy a pop. To complete the task you need to spend 8,910 energy. If you feel the need to get it done fast, it will cheaper to buy it off for 8 Reward Points than it would be to buy energy refills. Once again, there are no loot rewards. Based on the ones in previous parts of this Mission, I don't want any! Zynga can keep their crappy loot.
Part Eight
Shrunken Head Collection
Finally, the last part of this never ending Mission is here. You need to craft two weapons in your Weapons Depot.
Take out 10 Cult Leaders located on your fight list. Each one costs 10 stamina to attack.
Now Zynga is getting a bit crazy. They want us to do the job "Sink a Cargo Ship in Port" which is located in District 5. It cost 729 energy just to do it once and they want us to do it 18 times. That's 13,122 energy! You can try to do in in 6 days or buy it off for 9 Reward Points. So much for saying that the loot you get from these events is free!
Declare one war. It doesn't matter if you win or lose, you just need to declare the war. You can do this once every 8 hours.
Finish everything and get the Grand Prize of a Great Blue Heron. The stats are great but what a lot of work for one loot item!

  11. whatt? i only have room for 8 people for my brazil crew, how come you have room for 12:/

  12. There is no way an average player who does not spend money on the game will finish the mission. This game becomes just about $$$$. Soon we wont be able to play it without spending real money :(

  13. "Make sure you have 8 open slots in your Brazil Crew or you won't get credit for clicks past vacant slots. If you don't have enough, fill your current bonus slots." If you have a full crew like me and have to wait for 14 more hours to fill the vacant slots, simply click on any crew-requests from others, they count too ;)

  14. If the mission was giving usable loot along the way it wouldn't be AS bad. As it is, I think I've finally found a mission I don't care to finish

  21. like the "boss fight" was a gifting event in disguise this is market place loot disguised as a mission - Z just looking for new ways to force us to buy RP - they must think we are stupid - they should not judge us by their standards

  22. ok seems to be going much bettre than i thot on part 7 atm and only spend 12RP for the build but 0euro i dont buy them just keep 50 min unspend for when these event come. But like somone just says im Level 4295 so yes its a bit easyer when you can collect the extra bonus to lvl even faster aslong as we an calculate what ratio we need we can lvlup

  23. Just a brief note regarding the comment "Instead of Mission Crew members, we need to ask for Brazil Crew members. This is much easier as we an generate a post for our news feeds."

Wish that were true. Many of us do NOT have an option to generate a news feed post when we ask for Brazil crew members - instead we have to spam individual mafia members with requests for them every time, whether our crew is empty, full, or somewhere in between.

  24. Just got to the last portions of the mission. They are giving me credit for the 2 big Brazil jobs before I even started so I didn't have to burn energy for those. They might have realized that they were being extra stupid with the requirements for those of us that are already done to Ruby.

    ReplyDelete
  25. But extra stupid with those who didn't even start Brazil. Too much work, too short time (or too many reward points). THank you, I'll skip this one.
Btw what would we do without ppl like MWLootLady who outlines what to be prepared for? 90% wouldn't complete it without reward points, because of the short time. (Even with a golden rule "don't collect or manufacture anything when there's active mission"

  26. This is one of the worst missions by Zynga that i have seen yet! The only loot worth having is the Great Blue Heron grand prize of 150/89. So anywhere you can cut corners and skip the "junk loot" of 50 points or worse, do it. It's a bunch of crap set up to coerce you into spending ridiculous amounts of energy, stamina and/or RP. AS one of my colleagues said it brings back memories of winning a box of chocolates. Zynga really sucks on this one.

If "ASK" for Brazil Crew gives you the individual recuitment, then "Recruit" (after opening to view your crew) will send the wallpost! It has been told in an early post about Brazil Crew that those buttons is swapped in some accounts!

  29. I forgot that I had the property manager running which had just purchased a black market item 30 SECONDS before I got to that part of the mission get Even - to buy an item there. Now we wait 18 hours, well 17:59:30 hours, how annoying. And I'm not going to spend RP, have ample time to finish this.

I do know not to collect/buy when there is a mission, call me blonde, what can I do, 'm forgetful :)

  30. For those not above complaining, CS will check the jobs complete if you've completed RUBY level in those jobs. Problem is, that takes several chat sessions, but still beats spending RPs or massive energy.

  31. Weird! How come you have room for 12 people on Brazil crew while i've got room for 16?

  32. "Weird! How come you have room for 12 people on Brazil crew while i've got room for 16? "

LOL I only have room for 8.

    ReplyDelete
  33. @ those who have only 8 slots for brazil crew: what's the duration of your timer? I have 16 slots and 18 hours

@ all: I have 2555 energy, 1534 stamina and I finished the first 7 parts of the mission w/o using any rp. you can do it... plus that if i remember correctly, the energy used for doing a job in brazil is level depending... so even the low-level players shoud be able to complete...
