A small percentage of players will notice that when they attack somebody there is information about the health status of their opponent. Without knowing exactly how many health points your opponent has, a percentage doesn't mean a whole lot but it's better than nothing.
I like this addition because I get so many questions from new players asking why they can't ice a player. It's often because they are attacking someone who is already iced. Experienced players know that if you don't see the "Attack Again" and the "Power Attack" buttons on your fight screen it means the player is already dead. With a tangible statistic also on the screen there shouldn't be so much confusion.
Obviously if their health is really low, you wouldn't want to waste any stamina by continuing to attack if you found the player on the fight list. Most likely other players are attacking the same target and the odds of your opponent still having 1% of their health by the time you attack again are slim. Mot likely you will be attacking a dead target. It's hard to tell by percentage alone as 1% health could mean they are well over 20 health providing they have more than 2,000 health which isn't that uncommon. The only definitive is 0%. I would pass on attacking this player again and find somebody else.
If you want to red ice somebody (icing a player you lose to with repeated attacks), you can get a better feel for how many attacks it might take. To red ice the player below, I would probably have to attack them many times as I only dealt 2 damage on the initial attack.
In the example below, I found a player who was almost at 98% health. I Power Attacked him and it was fun to watch the stat change. He healed during my attacks but eventually I got the ice. The only improvement Zynga could make would be to tell us how many health points a person has but that wouldn't be good for players who don't want their health stat to be public knowledge so we probably won't see that happen.
Another thing that continues to be a problem is that many players show up as alive on the fight list but by the time you attack them they are already dead. This happens all the time on the Rivals list. I wish they could fix that. Arun can do it with the ice checker, why can't Zynga?

"You get an ice when you knock a player below 20% of their health."
ReplyDeleteRiight.. only if everyone has 100 health.
You might want to click that "What is icing?" button on icing event banner.
I agree with the previous poster, You ice a player when you bring their health under 20 points, not 20%.
ReplyDeleteAlso power attacking only does UP TO 5 attacks, if you knock out the player before 5 attacks during a power attack it will just stop. That's why sometimes you will notice that after using a power attack it only shows: WIN: 3 | LOSS: 0
If you power attack someone and only 1 attack is needed it only uses 1 stamina, if 2 is need only 2 stamina will be used. You do not waste stamina when using the power attack.
ReplyDeleteI also think it is under 20 points, not 20%.
ReplyDeleteYes it is under 20 health. This post is full of wrong info.
ReplyDeleteThanks all. Guess I got dyslexic seeing the percentage on the fight page and had that on the brain. Made the edits. I'm not perfect so those who were rude about it get over yourselves.
ReplyDeleteObviously if their health is really low, you wouldn't want to waste any stamina by continuing to attack. You won't get loot and you won't get the ice because most likely the player will be dead before you can attack them again.
ReplyDeleteWhat? Not true. You can continue to attack until the attack button is gone. You will still get loot and get the ice. That statement makes no sense.
It makes perfect sense when other players are attacking and the player gets iced by somebody else before you can refresh the page. I'll reword it to make more sense.
ReplyDeleteBy rude you probably mean my comment (first one).
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry. From your own comments I figured you would have thicker skin *shrug*
I can tell you right now
ReplyDeletethe clan community will be in an outrage if they show health percentage left
I for one at least

it would be a very simple matter to calculate how much health someone had (approximately) from watching how much damage you dealt and how the % dropped. Not sure this is a great idea, hopefully the rest of the fight changes (unless this is it LOL) are better... This is one I haven't heard anyone asking for!
