Where the loot items stats go by Eike Meier

Share:

Zynga increases the stats of the items with every event and every city. Of course this is cool on one hand, that we never get bored collecting 501 of each new highest item, on the other hand it means that all our beloved high end loot will someday not even help new players increasing their stats.
But what is Zynga up to with the stats?

I wanted to know and crawled through old Loot Ladys Posts and the Mafia Wars Wiki, and tried to compile a list of the highest lootable items in the last two years. With highest lootable I mean that you are able to get a high numbers of them, either by doing jobs, fighting or gifting. I included operations (former missions) because part of them are giftable and part of them had very high stats at an early time.
I took the items and tried to make an average of the highest stats, like the Frighter, Black Caiman and Arma Cunra in Brazil. Of course I had to estimate a bit, but I just want an estimation.
Here is the list:

Then I made a chart out of the numbers. You'll notice that the first operation loot and the FHEL4 are a bit above avarage, but mostly all numbers are about linear.

Now I increased the time line and added a linear approximation. And here you see Zyngas Masterplan! We're heading for loots stats of 100 to the end of the year!

Hope you enjoyed a bit math! Sorry for German date format, I was too lazy to change it because I realized it just after posting it. Its dd.mm.yyyy. :-)

  1. Use the metric like the rest of the worldApril 6, 2011 at 12:16 AM

That's not a German date format. It's the rest of the world date format. Americans just can't get it right.

  3. Stats inflation is there since the game was launched.

  4. If you have a 501 mafia, which every serious player should have, then the few 100+ special event items make only 10% of your numbers while the 400-450 mass items make the big difference between like 120k and 140k.

  5. nice work. zynga should slow everything down or more and more players will realize buying equipment with RP is a dump move unless for the sake of antique collection.

  11. nice observation. Item stats still play very little into most fights, but it is good to know what to expect down the line.
