Ever wondered what these error codes below the piggies mean?
They look cryptic but there shouldn't be much of them, so I wonder why I haven't heard of someone decoding them.
Most of them are easy to reproduce. Try to accept a gift from a non-friend:
Try to collect an already collected gift:
Try to collect a different gift from someone you already got another gift:
Only this one is tricky. I think you get it if the gift has been collected too many times. Unfortunately this is quite hard to test.
I tried verifying this. I only have very little data, but it shows the direction.
This link had given me the mc-24 error. I checked the link stats (you can do this by adding a "+" after the bitl.ly url) and it says 73 clicks!
The others I tested were ok, there was even one were I made the 37th hit:
Of course there can be false hits. Maybe I can get some test data later to get the exact number of allowed clicks for each gift. There have been numbers floating around, maybe someone knows more about it!

http://support.zynga.com/CP_ArticleView?Id=kA160000000GnxmCAC&gameId=43&loc=en_US if you are talking about the pigs I would also mention other warning you can get in the game: MWAccountSuspend, MWTempSuspend, MWPauseFightGift, MWWarn. This is a link to the support page where you can read what they mean...I know how many people play this game but have never read Terms of Service...they read only this blog (btw great and I am huge fan of it!) and are sure using links is ok...well, it isn't...on 19.01.2011 many accounts were taken. If you click on the links it is ALWAYS your risk! Please mention terms of service when you talk about bookmarklets even if it's a relativ harmles one like Link-a-nator.
ReplyDeleteAnonymous,
ReplyDeleteevery pig in this post can be archived without use of any scripts or gift links.
You can open the requests page twice and double-click on a gift, you can have a gift from a person that unfriended you before you open the gift, you can get two gifts from one person and you can have gifts "overused". So why should I talk about TOS?
And on a second thread, I don't see where gift link are against the TOS?
And third, Zynga is doing lots of gifting events, and using of gift links minimizes their and Facebooks server load. Why should they be against it?
Kn-39 sample:
ReplyDeleteget a gift via link: ok
get returned gift in game: ok
get it again in on http://www.facebook.com/reqs.php : Kn-39
That should be ke-29, as far as I tested.
ReplyDeleteGifting links are coded so that users can give CS some accurate feedback. Since the system is undergoing testing they probably don't feel confident enough to put up the real error message explanation because they don't want to throw up a inaccurate or accusational flag response to a user. Example refreshing the page will say "you already claimed this gift" but if for some reason the player didn't recall accepting it from another source they might get mad, so its just an error code. Would your prefer reading: "You can't accept this gift because the system has determined you are a bot, please review the TOS"
ReplyDeleteA lot of times i will wait till an event ends before accepting gifts since accepting them while event is still going on will result in no gift at all.
ReplyDeleteI tried to create bitly links, but my friends got error code: df-98. Is this a new one?
