I know many of you are collectors and want all of the loot items that are available. MazdaFreak of
Mafia Wars Wiki fame happens to be one of them and was not happy when he realized that 2 of his loot items are gone and not even listed on the new Inventory Page. Go ahead and search your inventory for the Bullet-Proof Berkshire and the Luxury SUV and you won't find them.
Because the Mafia Wars Wiki page lists all of the loot items ever introduced into the game, there is documentation that these items existed at one time.
MazdaFreak wasn't going to just sit there and accept this so he contacted Customer Support. The response by Zynga confirms that the Luxury SUV was removed from the game but now explanation was given as to why. The Customer Support Agent obviously isn't aware that loot items can have similar or identical names and never confirms or denies the removal of the Bullet-Proof Berkshire.

Because MazdaFreak is a "valued customer" with "exceptional gaming skills", he was compensated with 1 "Bullet-Proof Burkshire" and can now "continue playing the game". Too bad he was given a Deadly Bullet-Proof Berkshire instead! I can't imagine the stress this is causing. For collectors this wasn't a good move by Zynga and I think they should return the items that were removed. What is the point of collecting if at anytime an item could be removed? It would be like someone coming into your house and taking away one of your kids Hot Wheels. He would notice and you would have to explain!

I am a collector my self and I know how much of a shock it was to find out that this item had been removed. If I could give you this item I would, but at this moment I can't. However I have added the Deadly Bullet-Proof Berkshire to your account, because I noticed that you didn't have one.

is it just me or does anyone else find the parts with - "exceptional gaming skills", "also a daily player/also a collector", "veeery happy to help you/veeery valued customer" and others - just funny and stupid? instead of writing lots of text about how happy they are and how good we are (very impersonal marketing BS in my opinion and I know, I got a college degree in marketing), how about getting to the problem at hand and solving why precisely were they removed (not just probably), if they will ever return and/or getting the exactly same replacement if possible...altough I understand that support can't really do anything if they were removed from the game, but still, the parts are just, stupid...

hi... having just gone through this with the zcs... i think that the alternate versions of the items have been added to our inventories.. although numbers are not right....i owned a bulletproof berkshire AND a deadly bullet proof... now i have only one. however i owned only the SUV not the escalade and guess what my latest item in vehicles is ...yup the escalade.... now zynga wont admit the item has been removed and seem terrified to even admit its gone... i think this is due to a massive compensation of reward points they envisage.. i too have complained and await a response but would ask everyone to check and see if there item has been replaced if you did not own both beforehand i think you will find you now have the other item

I'm missing ALL of my special Loot items gained by completing operations!! the day the rollback occurred, I was almost fixed! That rollback was to fix a database error that they thought was widespread, but apparently wasn't! So they undid it! SOB's!!! And now I, and a unknown amount of users, are still waiting for our fix!!
ReplyDeleteI also am a collector, and i have noticed over night that on the inventory page my list of pages of items ' i do not own ' has fallen from 51 pages to 40. ( and im fairly sure that i haven't been gifted the missing 131 items.
