Remember this guy? I'm sure many will never forget him, the microphone from the 1980's or the Snoop Dogg Blowin' Up Event. While in San Fransisco this past weekend, I was able to learn his true identity. Meet Scott, the General Manager of Mafia Wars. Many of us had no idea that Mafia Wars Top Dogg was interviewing Snoop Dogg!
Blue Eyed Nate introduced me to Scott during my tour of Zynga Headquarters (yes, Scott was working hard on a Saturday afternoon just like some of the developers). I was very nervous but did my best to maintain cool. It reminded me of the very first time I talked to Pistol Pete from Team Spockholm on Skype (Pete still thinks I'm a dork). I was honored and excited to learn that Scott has read my blog. It doesn't get any better than that! I can only hope I do a good job of representing Mafia Wars players as a whole when I write articles about things we would like to see improve in the game. During the San Fransisco event, Scott gave a speech and shared some exciting news with all the fans. The developers have been working hard on the inventory revamp, the home page will soon contain more useful information and Quests are going to be added to the game. Here is how the Wikipedia Quest (Gaming) Page (1) defines a quest.
A quest in role-playing games — including massively multiplayer online role-playing games (MMORPGs) and their predecessors, MUDs — is a task that a player-controlled character or group of characters may complete in order to gain a reward.[1][2] Rewards may include an increase in the character's experience in order to learn new skills and abilities, loot or treasure, in-game currency such as gold coins, access to new locations or areas, or any combination of the above.
