Black Friday Raid: Now Until Nov 29th

The Black Friday Raid is here and the tempting offers start as soon as you log in to Mafia Wars.  First you are greeted with a pop-up offering 40% off a Reward Point purchase.

Next you are given all the details of  The Black Friday Raid which is similar to the Marketplace promotions we have had in the past.  If you purchase 15 items in the Marketplace, you vehicle called the Berzerker which has an attack of 120 and a defense of 60.

The End of Summer Blowout sale was a little different because there were 3 loot items and less purchases were required.

Spend a crap load of Reward Points and you will get the items below.  This is a change from what the Official Mafia Wars Blog posted a few days ago. It seems it was originally going to be a contest and you would be entered if you spent the required amount of Reward Points.  Now they will just give you the items.

Spend 2,000 or more Reward Points and that autographed Mafia Wars poster can be yours.  I hope it's not anything like the Mafia Wars Schwag Pack poster.  Remember that?  They didn't even bother to put it in a poster tube and it was all full of creases from being folded enough times to stuff in an envelope.

If you miss the banners and pop-ups, don't worry because you will also be notified by e-mail.

Go to the Marketplace to get started.  You will once again see the things that tempted you there in the first place.  The 40% offer is there and another image of the Berserker.  It sounds like Zynga hired a used car salesman to write this one up.

Your purchase meter patiently awaits for you to fill it up.  Every purchase will turn one of the gray boxes orange.  Fill them all up and that truck is yours!

In case you can't find everything, a Black Friday Sale tab has been added to the Marketplace.

Four new Limited Edition loot items have been created just for this event and they are 20 Reward Points each which is 42% off the regular price. You would think that they would be 50% off since the promo banner going on this past week emphasized that most items were 50% off.  It's odd that the featured items for this event can't be included in "most items"!

Every hour different things go on sale.  What's really funny is nothing I have seen so far is 50% off!

Thanks to Shoaib for finding the only item that appears to be 50% off.  Most usually means a percent larger than 50.  In Zyngaland it must mean 1 out of 100.  Even if there are some items I didn't notice, this does not add up to most.  If you want to buy something for 50% go to the crates section and buy a single Armor Plated Crate.  I may buy a few of these as you will get additional loot items that will help your stats.

Remember do NOT use the in game option to use Reward Points.  I know it's much easier to click on the pop-up that appears when you run out of energy or stamina, but you won't get credit for the purchase.  If you don't get it from the Marketplace, it doesn't count!  Maybe this is a mistake and they will fix it but better safe than sorry.

The fine print is very confusing.  It states "Items selling for 5 RP or less, Fight Club items and Loyalty Program items not eligible".  I purchased a fighters energy refill in the fight club and was given credit for a purchase. This was only two Reward Points and is in the Fight Club.  Several of the items you buy with Victory Coins also count.  I think they need to reword the fine print.

You also get credit for a purchase when you open a Treasure Chest. Buying a Gold Treasure Chest Key will fill up two boxes on your ticker. Once when you purchase it and once when you open the Treasure Chest. Treasure Chest Keys that are already in your inventory count as well.

What doesn't count and has me torn right now is the timer in the Weapons Depot. This is too good of a deal to use Reward Points anywhere else.  I wish these promotions were not happening at the same time. I will most likely pass on trying to get the Berzerker.  I really want as many cheap skill points as I can get.

One of my mafia members, Leonard Wong, made 15 purchases and the Berzerker was added to his inventory.  He said that the progress meter resets and you can work on getting another Berzerkers if you want to.
