This doesn't have much to do with Mafia Wars but I would like to warn as many people as possible about a condition called Toasted Skin Syndrome. About 2 months ago, I noticed a net shaped scar on my lower right thigh. I couldn't figure out what it was as it didn't look like anything I saw when I was in medical school. I did notice that the scared area was a perfect match to the exhaust fan on my laptop. Since then I avoided resting my laptop on my leg but the scar has not gone away. I finally found some literature and learned all about it (1),(2). I'm hoping that topical creams will help but it looks like I'm stuck with this scar as everything I read says it's permanent. Before leaving a comment calling me a dumb ass, I already know I wasn't very smart about it. I hope those of you who use your laptops will remember this article and take precautions to avoid Toasted Skin Syndrome.

ReplyDeleteI think bare skin. It happened to me during the summer when I was wearing shorts most of the time. I would get to focused on what I was doing to move the laptop. I so regret that now!

ReplyDeleteyer elumakp that dose i got a burn on my left leg even though i have a cooling fan in mine it happened because all the heat excapes from one side of the computer i got like about 100 pimples on my leg
