Loyalty Program Demotion

Recently I was demoted from the Gold Level to the Emerald Level of the Loyalty Program.

The Loyalty Program was implemented on September 14th which was 22 days ago.  Here was the pop-up I received for earning Gold Status.  I was given 1,000 Loyalty Points and a Power Rifle (120/160).

We were told that we could get Loyalty Points just for playing the game. You can see by the image here I've only gotten 131 Loyalty Points in the past 22 days.  Obviously I've played as my level has gone from 1,205 to 1,243.  I've also made 2 small number Reward Point purchases during this time.  These Loyalty Points aren't easy to come by.  I would get more comp points at a Las Vegas Casino for playing on the penny slot machines once a month!

I wanted to see what I was missing out on from my demotion, so I reviewed the Loyalty Program Chart.

It doesn't look like I'm missing much.  I won't be able to purchase some of the Loyalty Program loot items.  Look at the prices on the 4 items I'm now locked out of buying. At 131 Loyalty Points every 22 days, it would take me over 3 months to buy one Water Born Tank.  The stats aren't even all that awesome.

Here is where Zynga is missing the boat.  I get bored easily and can be impulsive.  With all the things we need to do in the game, I never have a chance to get board.  I even worry I won't have time to utilize the energy and stamina I normally accumulate.  The last thing I need are Reward Points.  What would I do with them?  I haven't even used the last ones I purchased or added any of the skill points I've received for leveling in a while.

Sure I could buy skill points and make myself stronger but I already have a 97.7% win rate and that's good enough for me.  If they would stop rolling out new features every other day, I might get bored and buy lots of Reward Points.  Obviously I used to do that or I wouldn't have been awarded Gold Level status in the first place.

I was a little sad because I thought the Power Rifle would be taken away.  It turns out that you get to keep any items that were awarded to you.  Here is the Power Rifle in my inventory and on the Blofeld's Item Analyzer. Since I get to keep my Power Rifle, I don't see anything bad about being demoted.  Unless they add better incentives to the Loyalty Program, I'm not going to worry about getting my status back to the Gold Level.
