Zynga Forum Board Updates

Share:

The past week was full of issues and I posted many links to Zynga Forum Board discussion threads.  I went back to a few of them to see what's been happening.

1.   A Letter to the Devs:
Some interesting things have happened with Bossy Don's post which currently has over 10,000 views.  First Al Catraz had to make a few edits because it contained links to other pages and mentioned unframing.  These are violations of The Zynga Forum Boards ROS.  Normally posts are just deleted so it was nice of him to do this.  To read more see Bossy's post on TopMafia.Info titled The Mods Are Watching!.

Joanzie Malone, Community Manager, made a slightly delayed but nice and encouraging response.
2.   Fight Event In San Juan:
This one is just a hot mess.  After players weren't able to get into the game today, the entire event was pulled. The reason of "popularity" was changed to "performance issues".  Zynga got a little jiggy with "keeping us informed" with this issue.  Notifications were made on The Facebook Mafia Wars Fan Page, The Zynga Forum Boards, The Official Mafia Wars Blog, The Customer Support Page, The Mafia Wars Game Home Page, and Twitter.  I was half expecting a phone call as well!  If you're still wondering why you don't have the "It's On In San Juan" Event, get out from under that rock.  We can't accuse Zynga of keeping us in the dark on this one.

Somebody decided to make fun of Zynga and created their own message.  I don't know who the following image belongs to.  If it's yours, please comment so I can give you credit.
I came up with an idea for next time.  Rather than pick a random date to "gradually roll" out a new feature that may or may not work, why not slap a "Coming Soon" sign on the banner?  This one took just a few minutes to make and it wouldn't have pissed anybody off.  We would have waited and Zynga wouldn't have had to do all this explaining.
3.  LOL now Vegas Tournaments are BROKEN too:
Yesterday the Las Vegas Fight Tournaments stopped working.  Many players spent $V and stamina on an error message that yielded nothing in return.  Today it's still the same.  I laughed at this thread when Don Mojo asked "Can Zynga fire these incompetent developers and hire some real ones please?".  Al Catraz responded that "This has been Reported to the staff".  Was he referring to the tournament issue or the incompetent developers?  Maybe the staff will whip these guys into shape once they read Al's report.
4. No RP on level up:  Many players were not getting a Reward Point when they reached an even level.  Instead they got 2 Hired Guns.  We were all worried that this was another Zynga imposed nerf but Al Catraz confirms it was just a bug.  The 2 Hired Guns are just a bonus and they don't hurt anybody.  Players who don't have 500 mafia will appreciate them.  I wouldn't mind replacing a few idiots with these guys.  They do whatever you tell them and they never talk back.

  1. answer for number 4. RP's not added.

Have you got to level 20 fight mastery yet?. if so you'll see how good it is xD... 2 rp's for a free energy pack... YES PLEASE!!... obiously this is too good tho, I expect this to be the reason for this RP nerf, also, they will make more money.

about number 1. Unframing will no doubt be "theproblem with coding" or something ultimatley retarded like that... ps: an infinite number of monkeys, programming an infinite versions of mafia wars... and eventually they will... blow up the planet... FIRE THE IDIOTS! :D..

  2. lmao.

suggestion: change San Juan banner from Starting Soon to Crashing Soon.

i'm confused about the letter from jonesy. he said something about doing some R&D on reproduction or something like that. is that how a Zyng-a-ling says to us that we're just gonna get screwed again?

Zyng-a-ling: employee of Zynga. Pronounced like ding-a-ling, but with a Z. Can also be spelled Zyngaling.
