Mafia Wars Loyalty Program

You can't miss the new addition to The Marketplace called the Loyalty Program.  Not only will you get a pop-up when you log in, you will see a new banner, home page message, Marketplace icon, profile icon, and game header icon.

No worries if you weren't paying attention because you will also get an e-mail.
All accounts haven't been updated yet but you will definitely know when it happens.  Blue Eyed Nate notified us on the Zynga Forum Boards in a discussion thread titled Loyalty Points? that this feature is being incrementally rolled out.  He also promises that a there will be a new post on the Official Mafia Wars Blog.
The Loyalty Program is a system to encourage players to buy Reward Points.  There are 3 status levels which offer different types of benefits.  Players reactions on the Zynga Forum Boards are not positive.  Many feel this is just another ploy to get people to spend money and it's not fair to those who don't.  This may cause a few to leave the game.  The people who buy a lot of Reward Points could kick my ass before the Loyalty Program was introduced so it doesn't bother me that they will get a few more benefits.
Here are all the loot items and rewards that you can purchase with your Loyalty Points.  For all the items contained in the Loyalty Crates and Bundles, see the Mafia Wars Wiki Loyalty Program Page
Zynga must anticipate that we will be getting a lot of loyalty points because they added a drop bar to the loot items above.  You can buy 1, 5, 10, or 25 items at a time.
You must get some kind of credit for past purchases because I started off with Gold Level status.  I got a Power Rifle (120/160) and the option to share Loyalty Points with my mafia.
To check your own status level progress and see which exclusive items you are eligible to purchase, go to the Marketplace and click on the Loyalty Program.
All your Loyalty Program stats will be on this page.
If you don't want your Loyalty Program status level to be visible to others on your Mafia Wars profile, click on "Make Status Private".
It says "Purchase Reward Points or play to increase your mastery".  I played for a while and took screen shots before and after and my mastery progress bar stayed the same.  Maybe you need to play a lot before anything happens.
I bought a Mafia Wars game card a while ago to obtain the limited edition Osprey Helicopter.  I forgot about it and almost missed out because today is the last day to use it.
I'm glad I didn't use it earlier because I wanted to find out how many Loyalty Points you get for using a game card.  I was disappointed to learn that using game cards will not yield any Loyalty Points but happy I got the Osprey Helicopter!
I had some extra Facebook Credits so I purchased 85 more Reward Points.  Normally this would cost $20.00, but I got a 30% discount.
I gained 28 Loyalty Points and 1% mastery progression towards the Platinum Status Level.  Assuming there are no discounts, I will need to spend $420 to get to Platinum Status.  I have plenty of Reward Points now so that's not going to happen for a long time.
You can also get Loyalty Points from your mafia members.  When you reach the next status level, you have the option to post it so your friends can get a bonus of 10 Loyalty Points.  I'm not sure how many bonuses you can click on a day.  I was too late for everyone that I tried and the Mafia Wars Wiki hasn't been updated yet.  Please comment if you know the answer.
The concept of a Loyalty program is nothing new.  I know you didn't think Zynga was creative enough to come up with this on their own.  Every casino in Las Vegas has some type of loyalty or reward program.  When you gamble, you can use whatever program the casino offers to get points.  Points can then be used to get complimentary dinners, shows, hotel rooms, and much more.  Here is my Total Rewards card for all the Harrah's properties.
Thanks to Alexander Ploss for sending me some screen shots.

  3. Thanks for the information. I was looking everywhere to find out what were loyalty points. Even asked a few people whose bonuses I collected and they didn't know. I just got pissed off at MW & zynga and closed my acct. Nice reward. I almost want to open it again just to see when I'll get this. Could be like the stupid Boss fights I could never finish.
