District 8: The Hoover Dam

Share:

District 8, like District 7 has no Social Pathway and only Energy and a Fight Pathway.  There is one social job and it's located in both the Energy and Fight Pathways.  The consumable requirements are not a severe as District 7.
Energy Pathway Jobs
Only two of these jobs require consumable items.
You will need Alarm Codes and Hot Tips.  You can get them in by doing the following jobs in Districts 3 and 2.
In addition to the Social Job and the Boss Fight, there are 3 fighting jobs.
Fight Pahtway Jobs
When you master the Social job on the Bronze Level, you will unlock the another property for your Las Vegas Casino.  This one is the Fountain casino property.  I will have more on building it in a upcoming article.
It kind of looks like the famous Bellagio Fountains here in the real Las Vegas.  I like this addition but I don't want to collect all the parts to build it that I had gifted away.
The District 8 Boss is Eric Halloran.  He used is box office stardom to buy his way into the Nevada Governor's mansion.  He has no intention to bow out gracefully from the political stage.  Here is what it takes to beat him.  You can ask for help and it wasn't that hard to beat him.  After the San Juan Bosses, I think we are now desensitized to beating the District Bosses.  20,000 Health seems like nothing compared to the 192,000 Health of Big Lou.
I wonder if Jim Gibbons knows that some Actor/Governor who looks just like Rob Blagojavich has taken over his job?  How does Governor Halloran find the time to perform his mafia boss duties?  Nevada is a mess right now.
When you defeat the Governor Halloran, you get a Hallorans Helicopter and the stats increase for each level of mastery.  The Ruby Level Hallorans Helicopter is 120/10.  This is equipment item has the highest stats we've ever seen in Mafia Wars.
Here are the new equipment loot items that drop when doing the District 8 jobs.  I will work on getting the drop rates in the next few days.

  5. At 2.164 on the Ruby level, the "Verify Halloran's arrival at the dam" job now has the highest experience / energy ratio of any job in the game.

  6. ...of any energy job that is.

  7. Didn't see this on the new loot list:

    Foo Fighter

    37 Attack 60 Defense

  8. Also, the info on "Verify Holloran's Arrival" job is grossly mis-stated 19 energy for 32 Exp is only 1.68 ratio or with mafia bonus 35 exp for a 1.84 ratio.

  10. info about "Verify Holloran's Arrival" might be correct, not sure yet. it said in ruby level, I'm in gold now, the ratio is 1.99 (157 exp for 79 eng).

  12. Has the loot drop rate decreased on this since it was available? I am on bronze and only got 5 VHEL out of 154 jobs. I remember a few days ago it was usually around 10% drops of VHEL. The past few runs have been around 3-5%.

  13. Anyone know which jobs have the best drop rates yet?
