We often see the term ‘Park Mode’ or players say they are ‘parking it’ and I’ve been asked by a few what it means. Park Mode is simply a strategy used by those who want to get stronger or reduce their ratios without using their reward points to do so. The concept is simple and all you need to do is stop leveling. Simply stop doing jobs, fights, robs and Arena but most importantly keep building your character with skill points gained from crafting, 2X Builds or Skill Point Reallocations. Every time you level up more experience is needed to get to the next level. To be exact you need and average of 12.5 experience points more than you did for the previous level. You earn +5 skill points from leveling so you can see that isn’t enough to keep your leveling ratio down. For many more details on experience and leveling, visit the Mafia Wars Wiki Experience Page. Parking it allows you to build while keeping the experience needed to level the same and therefore bring down ratios. If you are in families that require Family Progression to be done daily it makes it a little more difficult but you can collect all your bonuses and probably only gain a level or two per day. Zynga often throws events at us that require us to play as they obviously don't like the Park Mode concept. Park Mode is also ideal for players in danger of hitting the level cap and can prolong the ability to play normally. I really enjoy the times when there aren’t many events going on and staying in Park Mode is much easier. The best thing about Park Mode is it drives your attackers crazy as there is no need to heal.

The Park Mode Strategy
We often see the term ‘Park Mode’ or players say they are ‘parking it’ and I’ve been asked by a few what it means. This is so stupid LOL
ReplyDeleteIf you don't need to bring down your ratio or don't want to be stronger for your level than it may seem that way to you but many use this strategy. I know I do. Makes the game feel like less work as well.
Deletenothing stupid about it if you have a mini my mini was just a daily build level 260 18k combi 17k health 9k stamina could last a week maybe 10 days before leveling trick is to get back below 20 as soon as you log in build beg war log out eventually got fed up with it and in 2 months account has gone from level 260 to level 24790
ReplyDeleteHenceforth i decree that all autolevelers be refereed to as Anti-Parkers. bahahahahahaha
ReplyDeletePark Mode Strategy is a non strategy for idiots in that it does nothing by doing nothing and the idea of reducing ratios to level better by not leveling is idiotic.
ReplyDeleteLeveling and adding to stam or eng both can give more exp to make up for the level.increase in exp required.@ 2.8 stam /2.5 eng.<-- max but you should be able to get an equal or better return.
If you can only work out to equal you also get 1rp every two level which equates to 1/2 skill pt per level when rp used at 2x build day.
obviosly loot from leveling and jobing fluxuates but is also a missed short term boost.
In short parking as a positive strategy is for idiots.
You aren't understanding it properly then. It's more a strategy to make up for or change the objective of building accounts. If accounts were built from day 1 to be a certain type than it wouldn't be needed. Most players didn't build ideally, esp in the beginning and need to make up for it and this is a slower option than buying thousands of reward points.
Deletei understand perfectly, if you have an issue leveling as you att/def heavy then leveling adding to eng/stam makes it better and obviously crafting each day etc.
DeleteJust crafting each day etc and not leveling is the slowest non strategy possible.
note i comment on using rps gatheed from leveling.
its so obvious and simple its amazing people think doing nothing is faster than doing something that reduces the exp gap to leveling and worrying about ratio concept is irrelvant. exp to level is relevant. ill stop banging my head against a thick brick wall some people you cant help ;-(.
I must be missing something here with the parking strategy...like the first anonymous commenter I'm not convinced - but if I'm missing something please let me know. I get the advantages if you are close to hitting the leveling cap - or even using it to build up a mini. But in the case of wanting to reduce your leveling ratio in your main account I'm not sure this is the most efficient strategy. Lets say you are starting out as level 15k, your combined energy/stamina is 62k and you have no RPs up your sleeve and you're a VIP - this gives you a ratio of 3.04. So follow the parking strategy for 50 days - craft 38 energy/stamina every 18 hours, collect skill point and RP from Mystery bag, do your daily take and get another RP, collect 50 RP and 6 skill pts from VIP each week. At the end of the 50 days you would have 2746 skill points and 350 RP - assuming you put them all to energy/stamina and use the RP to craft en/stam in a 2x build you would now still be level 15k but your ratio would be 2.94. That's 50 days of not really playing (actually that sounds pretty good ) and all you've done is reduce your ratio from 3.04 to 2.94.
DeleteNow lets say you do all of the above activities to get your 2746/350 skill/RP but you also level 30 times a day (yes this requires a kami and some script abuse). At the end of the 50 days, admittedly you've gone up 1.5k levels so exp pts to level are higher - but you've gained an additional 7.5k skill points and 750 RP - put these to energy/stamina and your new ratio is 2.81. Still slow but not as slow as parking.
Just curious to see other people's opinion/perspective - the stats I quote are close to mine - and I've been trying to reduce my ratio for a few months now.. got it down from 4 to 3 mainly by leveling as often as possible, and putting every skill pt and RP I can lay my hands on to energy and stamina - parking seems like a good idea at first - BUT I really think it's slower in the long run..

Read the last sentence..
DeleteIt isn't a strategy...It is called HIDING
Nope it actually improves your account. If you are a fighter, you become stronger for your level. If you are a serial leveler or want to be, you can get there without spending. If you knew there was more to the game than sitting on people, you would see the benefits.
DeleteAt level 35,556 (your level) it takes a MASSIVE amount of skill points to alter your ratio, nothing you could get by this "parking" strategy in any realistic amount of time... Nor could you gain any ground in strength in relation to your level...
DeleteIf you are a smaller player, this is a great way to build your character up, or achieve serial leveling...
So, a level 35K is HIDING... Like you said, "it drives your attackers crazy" AND bonus, you let your clan take all the hits for you ;)
lol, shows how little you know. Sure it won't help doing it a day or 2 but over a period of time it really does. After adding so much to attack and defense, my ratio shot up to about 2.6, since then I've been playing this way and it's below 2.4 now and I haven't spend money other than VIP. Most my family plays the same way. It's not hiding it's a strategy. If I wanted to hide, I would play in the Arena like I used to or now I can do stamina jobs. Fighters just can't stand the fact that you can play this game and do well without fighting.
DeleteLOL It has nothing to do with fighters, haters, or YOU...
DeleteNor does it help anyone to preface or end every comment you make with an insult to anyone that disagrees with you, or offers another point of view.
A level 35K with a 2.614 ratio will have to add 15K in Stamina/Energy to drop to 2.402.
If you just built at 32 stamina/energy a day..you just "parked" for 469 days.
Using Julie's numbers above (correcting 38 to 32/day)..You just parked for 312 days.
This, obviously, is a long time to "park" to get these results. If you also read Julie's post, you will see clearly that it is also a very inefficient way to lower your ratio.
If you are going to put information out there and "teach" or try and explain things to the people that visit your site...You should at least give an accurate and complete explanation.
You will have a hard time convincing me that hiding isn't at least part of your strategy...
I also doubt you will actually publish this response...Unless, of course, you can find a way to take a dig at me while doing so ;)
There are other ways to build than just waiting 18 hours for your properties. I do the minimum to keep myself from leveling too much. That's all this post was about. I was asked what Park Mode was and this is the gist of it. Who cares if I don't heal? This wasn't a guide on the precise way to park it, it was a general way to look at it. I do spend money on this game so building with my reward points and not leveling worked for me. I may not be for everyone but for some it's a viable strategy.
DeleteTrue, this is being used all over i have a level 44 mini that is actually stronger than my level 10K acc. And believe me my level 10K is no slouch!!!! Only thing i am missingat the min is stamina but i have turned a level 50 into a level 3500 within a month and gained over 20K stamina in that time
ReplyDeletepeople should just play the games like they are created instead of cheating this makes the games unbalance when cheaters keep cheating and make the owners of the game mad this make zynga madder and make the game harder to be play by honest players down with cheaters
ReplyDeletewhats cheating about slow bluiding useing only the things that are in the game like the daily builds and those damn limited time props ???.. how is that cheating
DeleteWhat is with everyone these days saying the rest of the players are cheating just because they use a different techinique? And who cares what Zynga thinks?
DeleteBut this "strategy" only works if you add your skill points to energy or stamina?
ReplyDeleteThe personal att/def doesnt do anything to your xp or level up ratio and whatnot?
It is not cheating, it is just a different strategy to place this game.
ReplyDeleteBeen doing this for 2 or 3 years but i call it camping what i do is take a week off playing normal once every month and sort out and add to what i like with builds
DeleteIt's my game and I'll play it however I see fit. Whether you call me a cheater or not, it's still my game, and you don't see me calling you names for how you play your game, do you?? Just because I am lazy and decide not to fight or do jobs today, and just build doesn't make me a cheater, it means I have a life. :P
ReplyDeleteNah, I'll stick to regular levelling and split 40/50 skill points between my attack and defence each day. That said, Parking was useful back in the days when I was approaching level 450 and getting close to entering the dreaded Shark Tank.
ReplyDeleteI use this strategy when on vacation. 15 minutes to build and collect then the rest of time to relax and enjoy.
ReplyDeleteWhere does the Loot Lady say, "Hey, this is how you should play the game!?" If you read what she said (which I doubt that you did) she said that people asked her what parking means, and she provided an explanation. Nobody said that you have to play this way, so get your panties out of a bunch.
ReplyDeleteThank you! It's not for everyone. I personally use this strategy and my ratio has dropped without having to spend on skill points. Some just love to jump on me if they don't agree or understand something.
DeleteAMEN
DeleteRatio-o-nater says my current ratio is 2.339, how much do I need to lower it in order to keep leveling up?
ReplyDelete2.21 should do it
DeleteThanks man, it's nice to see someone who actually cares about us.
DeleteMine is 2.36 & target is the same.... Never tried this method, but seems interesting... Also My Level is 4,195 / Energy over 5K / Stam. & Health over 17K / Personals combined over 21K / & Mafia are both over 620K.... Keep my personals even always... Not sure I understand the concept but if your hitting the same as your target, no matter what it is, you should self level or come close to it every time, other variables have to do with your place in the game though... {What you have completed & Not Completed}
DeleteParking dont necessairly mean u dont play at all, just means you need to not level so much and build daily to stam and energy to bring your ratio way faster (or att/def if u want to get stronger faster and not mess your ratio as bad while doing it). I have several friends doing this so they can start auto leveling and fight and help more in wars and such when they do play normal, and it is helping them alot. Because once you bring your ratio down to an auto leveling ratio, it is easier to maintain and keep auto leveling, you can see what u need to do while playing. Just because you dont understand it, doesnt mean you have to bash over it. And NO its not cheating, come on, how could that be cheating cause u dont play as much or use a strategy within the game compounds to help your game play?
ReplyDeleteFor one never park your account to improve your ratio unless your at 2.50 ratio or lower.
ReplyDeleteYou get 5 skill points for each level up. Each level you will need 12.5 more xp to level then the previous level.
Common sense tells you 12.5/5 = 2.5. So eventually your gonna reach 2.5 ratio by adding to energy or stamina daily. This isnt even calculating your skills from props, rp's gained daily and etc...
So if your at 2.5 or more and you park your acct. To just improve your ratio. Your gonna take alot longer then necessary to do so.
Hope this helps
I understand the concept of it and atm do my own version of it which involves being in a family that allows building your account/mini and building etc. If you dont mind win/loss ratio you can actually help your main some if you wish and pick things to do which wont lvl you too much...Time it takes time and if you have no patience then forget it...it isn't for you
ReplyDeleteYou have to go to math school. each level up requires 12.5skill points of energy than the next. You get 5rp each level, if you use them all 7.5 energy is needed to keep you at the same ratio.
ReplyDeleteYou can also collect from your propertied 5 properties x 6sp plus 2 from nightclub that is a gain of 32 not a loss as in leveling. parking adds as leveling is a loss, reducing your ratio.
If one has problems with internet access and still wants to keep account active, parking with a tablet/smart phone and use flashfox browser, one can park at local wifi hotspots and park untill their internet is restored.
How long do you think I should park to get my ratio to 2.25? I'm currently at 2.33.
ReplyDeletecould you please add 24 hours to the Craft Every menu.... some of us dont craft auto every 18 hours
ReplyDeleteAfter reading all the comments it's obvious that there are a lot of players that don't get the strategy of the game. Like most, I started ignorant, I went through two characters before I decided what I wanted my character to be. Started a third character and I still had it wrong. It wasn't until I started my current character that I realized the game actually plays itself and allows you to modify it slightly every so often. This truly is the best and most fun I've had playing.
ReplyDeleteI've gone through accounts and purchases and profiles, the whole kit-n-caboodle. Now I have my most powerful player parked. I was so frustrated at the amount of time and money I spent on him, I almost deleted him and quit the game. But I started fresh with a new character, and just to see what would happen, I didn't do anything except energy and stamina with the points. You would be surprised at how strong a character MW's builds for you.
My other character, while parked, will eventually be something that I can again have fun with.. of course he has ridiculous att and def but can't level worth a hoot.
Just a story to help with the "PARK" theory.. it works, and before you knock it, get ratio-nator, or whatever it's called, and try it. you WILL be surprised if you're a non-believer.
