Farewell to Amit Gill
It’s very sad that Amit Gill is leaving Mafia Wars. We often see the question “Who is the strongest player in the game?” and hands down the answer is Amit. Despite his great status, he is a grounded player and person alike. We don’t hear much from him and he never acts obnoxious as most would do with an account like his. We knew Amit as ‘Bored’ and before that the ‘Traveller’. He has now changed his Mafia Wars name to ‘The End’ to mark his departure. We all will leave this game at some point in time and it’s not easy to lose our #1 before the true end. Those of us who remain can only hope that the game will become more exiting and Amit will consider a comeback. Below is the good-bye message Amit posted on his wall yesterday.

a Great Player and a True gent in the game his presence will be sadly missed
ReplyDeleteYUP WE WILL ALL GO ..BUT WE MUST REMEMBER THAT EVERY MAFIA WARS PLAYER IS IMPORTANT TO THE GAME BECAUSE WE NEED EACH OTHER TO PLAY IT .. BEING THE STRONGEST OR THE WEAKEST IS NOT IMPORTANT .. HAVING FUN IS WHAT IT IS ALL ABOUT...ME HAVING PUT A FEW YEARS OF TIME AND SUM HARD EARNED CASHAROO INTO THE GAME UNDERSTANDS THAT.. I HAVE NO VISIONS OF GRANDER BEING THE STRONGEST PLAYER NOR AM I THE BEST STUDENT IN THE GAME . I WILL LEAVE THE GAME SOME DAY WHEN THE FUN RUNS OUT.. NO ONEW WILL MISS ME OR CARE ... lOl JUST PART OF THE GAME :)
Deletei am sure the people with whom you play with and whose mafia you are in will miss you when you decide your time has come i speak about Amit from my personal dealings with him as a friend and a mafia wars member
DeleteI saw Amit Gill - aka - Bored - frequently in the Arenas. Every time he showed up I hoped he was on my side in the Mob Furies. Otherwise, I was playing for second. Boy, did he vaporize me a bunch of times. Instant flash death. No chance of throwing up a shield. Whenever I think I'm getting somewhere in this game, I am reminded by players like Amit that I am a mere gnat. It's sad to see players like that go, however. As I thrive on challenges, and it's always good to have a worthy target such as Amit. I dunno when my time here is done. But all things in life come to an end. It is the very nature of things. Best wishes to Amit.
ReplyDeleteDon't give up your day jobs!
how sad
ReplyDeletePlease stand clear of the exit doors.... could be the start of a stampede..
ReplyDeleteLOL the "stampede" is actually a slow steady decline. Zynga is making the game undesirable for many people (no support, no fixes for known issues, I can go on for hours....) and THAT is what is killing it. Too many Villes for them to pay attention to something that could be a real money maker for them. Sad to see their management fail this badly.
Deletetime to go lol
Deletewell - given how weird my game has been acting lately i am about done myself lol - i have already stopped spending - this game is crap now
ReplyDeletei shut down my vip last month due to the ignorance of customer support. i too was one of the few that didnt recieve my plat on time i complained, i fought them, and now i have cut it all off. i still enjoy the post from mwll but i do believe everything with this game that has changed messed it up. should of never deleted cities, closed trading, should of left it be the way it made it great.
ReplyDeleteI don't really care about who the strongest players are but to get there he had to spend a lot of money I am sure and if those kinds of players keep leaving, how can the game survive? It also makes you think. think of all the time and/or money we have all spent on this game. Is it really worth it in the end? When we say I quit, will we be happy or say what a waste? I didn't know Amit but it really makes you think. Its sad any time the game loses a good player and person and from what I have heard about him he is a good person. Too many buttheads left to keep losing the good ones. Some day there will be no balance at all.
ReplyDeleteU spend money on a kid's toy.. he grows up n throws it away..gets new toys.. n the cycle continues.. do u consider it a waste aswell ?? M not a CC player.. never spent a penny on the game.. but still those who do r not fools mate !!
DeleteI don't believe I ever said the word fools.I have spent money on the game and the day I quit I am sure I will question if it was worth it. My post was obviously my opinion only about how I will feel and the questions I ask myself . The people who spent huge amounts of money can decide for themselves how they feel. And seeing how I don't have kids and that is a small amount of money it is not quite the same thing. The top players spent a lot of money, and I am fully aware that it is their money, and did not criticize that in any way. Nevertheless my main point still stands. these kinds of players leave and Zynga doesn't care, the game is doomed.
DeleteBeen playing for years and I can relate to his departure, been only logging in and playing for a couple hours or less...event overflow, build energy...now build stamina, now health...damn you changed it now more health...it's never enough. Also when you see clans sitting for months on some players in made up wars because of personal grudges of someone not liking another person and draging them all to the war...making them sell the account or people stop playing altogether is only making the game die faster. The game was about fun and interaction, now it's about trying to make people miserable and clicking on a button and leave the kammis hitting them to level and they can play 24/7 by cheating...who is going to spend one dime in a game that is full of people like this? That are not even "playing" the game...why spend money? So we can keep them playing for free and cheating? When the game shuts down...they can kammi themselves in their dreams...
ReplyDeleteSo Amit is the "Nelson Mandela" of Mafia Wars and is being buried today. Heads of state are here to morn his passing.
ReplyDeleteThis is what happens when you confuse a game with life. some see the mortality of their own accounts. Others are critical of someone who in 4 years rose to be the "top" player of the game. Goodbye Amit this is not Earth Shaking News.
This is a lot more common and going on almost daily by lesser know players, it just becomes news when one of the huge accounts quits. I wish him well.
ReplyDeleteI already dropped 2 of my 3 accounts and the last is on 100% scripts. I just sign on to reset and collect some things to keep it alive in hopes Zynga smartens up, but it doesnt look like it as there is now more going on than ever. They seem to think more is better than less, but in reality less is better than more and they are slowly driving people away.
There are certainly some butt heads in this game. Amit will be missed because although he was the strongest he never bullied or sat on people or families for days. A true gentleman of the world not only the game.
ReplyDeleteThere are certain clans out there who could take a leaf from his account and become more pleasant and not go around bullying other families.
I suppose ego's are a terrible thing people like Amit never boasted about his strength he just played the game for fun.
Enjoy the rest of your life Amit.
his galfriend quit and he is bored lol
ReplyDeleteI'm more concerned about the number of players leaving with no new players to replace them. The only new accounts we get now are alt accounts of existing players. Everytime Zynga drowns us with events, I lose more mafia. It's odd to think that at one time I was worried about hitting the 5000 friend limit. My mafia has more than halved and I have under 1500 mafia left (and some of them have probably stopped playing!)
ReplyDeletewho gives a crap if you continue playing or not. Do as you wish each and every one of you.Everyone plays for his own personal fun. Good bye Amit and anyelse Amit. big deal....
ReplyDeleteInstead of letting the account go off into the sunset he should put it to good use. Give the account to a few good players and let them go around taking out all of the jerks and bullies who ruin this game for so many players. The only way for this game to survive is to bring in new players. If you are new player and someone is sitting on you for a month you probably will quit and play something else. Let this account be a "bully throttle" and show these players that acting like jerks and ruining people's game of trivial things will not be tolerated.
ReplyDeleteSomeone please explain to me how Mafia Wars is a "game" anymore. It seems everyone just logs on and turns on a script to play. How is that fun? And most games require some kind of skill to play them. The only skill that gets you anywhere in Mafia Wars is entering your credit card info to buy skills. Does something sound wrong here? Lol
