We all knew the day would come when Facebook would force Timeline onto all fan pages. That day was today and as predicted the Mafia Wars Loot Lady Fan Page is a big hot mess. The path of least resistance is to get used to it but there are other options. Leonard Wong created a image walkthrough so to speak of how to use Timeline for pages and that can be found here.

Ravit Kumar came up with the idea of using the mobile view of a Facebook Fan Page and for now this is a good option. Rumor has it that the mobile view will eventually convert to Timeline as well.
Brandon Venery isn’t one to sit around and let something suck. He’s been working on an application to put fan pages back in chronological order. The Mafia Wars Loot Lady Fan Page is one of his beta pages. More development is to come but the basic version can be used today. To see posts on our fan page in the order they were made, follow the instructions below.
1. Click the link below.
2. Click the “Please Allow the App to Continue” link.
4. Allow the application permission to post on your behalf. This will be needed to allow users to like and post comments directly from the app.
5. All posts will now appear in the same section and in chronological order.
6. At this time you can’t like or comment on posts from the application. If you want to do either, click on the timestamp of the post that interests you.
You will be directed to the original post which will appear on a full page. From there you can like and/or comment. This step won’t be necessary once the application is further developed. It will also work on all fan pages once it’s out of beta testing.
We will also be working on making the page look nicer. If you would like to submit a Cover Photo, we will consider using it. The Cover Photo should be 850×315 (850px wide and 315px height) in size and we would prefer it matches the logo we’ve been using for the past 2 years (the smaller inset image).

ReplyDeletei changed our group page (war page) over about a month ago, we've had no problems with it as it is. as long as you click posts by others at the top the posts will be in order, i also like the fact that if someone has a question they can message the page instead of asking on the wall where it will get lost in the other posts. it just takes some tweaking. i'm definitely not letting an app "post as me" for anything. not for games, not for pages......
ReplyDeleteSo 4 month later this same exact thing is happening to me exactly as you described here Jen. Any update on how you fixed it if you have. It just started happening to me today and it is so irritating I can't do part of a mission because i need to help out in 4 wars and can't see any posts nor can I use homefeed center as there are no posts to scan. Urgh. Have contacted both Zynga who without questioning anything added 30Rp's to my account and no guidance as to what to do. FB no response as of yet it's been 7 hours. Thanks for any help
