How To Stop Mafia Wars Session Time Outs

Most of us have probably encountered a Session Time Out Error. It happens when you have a page open in Mafia Wars and leave it unattended for a while. It’s most annoying if you are running a script like RepeatJob and come back to find that not a lot got accomplished.

Go to the Spockholm Mafia forums, and you will find some workarounds in this thread.

1. Install Reload Every Firefox addon, http://reloadevery.mozdev.org/(restart needed)
2. Open Mafia Wars in a new tab, http://apps.facebook.com/inthemafia/
3. Right click that tab, Reload Every, Custom, 55 minutes.
4. Play the game unframed, http://spockon.me/u

Having Firefox reload that game tab will keep the unframed sessions alive. Just let that game tab sit and reload and things should work just fine.

There are probably other tricks to keep the game alive, but this is easy and works well.

You will also need to use a unframing workaround. Go here if you use Chrome and here if you use FireFox. There are some other tools that will do this as well. ChromeReload and Site Reloader are two examples mentioned in the thread.
