Well the title poses the question. If take the question in the literal sense the [ASS] family did, 102 members in the Family Module. The reason for the 1 extra memeber is still up for debate. However, the most any family can normally have is 101, 100 plus the godfather/godmother. Since we recorded the [ASS] family had been knocked down one family member so who knows. Italy Achievements & Collections

There are only 6 days left to complete Italy. You want to master as many jobs as possible to get the skill points and 5X Mastery will help. In addition to mastering jobs, you should also aim to get the 9 achievements and vault the 4 collections

New Family Boss Fight: Lily O’Valley

There is a new Family Boss in town. This is the 7th Family Boss and once again we it's a female. Her name is Lily O’Valley and I have a feeling it isn't lilies she is growing. Considering where she was created, you can count on that!

Ice Season 18 is officially over an off the Home Page. To collect your badge and loot reward item go to the Fight Page and you will get a popup.

Create Personalized Timeline Links for Mafia Wars

By now most of us are very familiar with the link that will filter and group all Mafia Wars requests in your newsfeed view. Facebook often changes things and this link has been very helpful during times in which Mafia Wars requests don’t appear in your newsfeeds. Players who now have Timeline are finding that it’s difficult to view their own Mafia Wars requests and players who visit the wall of those who have Timeline often run away before helping. Thanks to Brandon Venery, there is a way to create a personalized link to act in the same manner as the link below.

Two New Limited Edition Items

Two Limited Edition items were added to the Marketplace. The Wild Palomino was one of the 98 items added to the inventory back in January (1). The Rain Poncho was added 5 days ago (1). It looks like Zynga couldn’t come up with anything clever to say about the Rain Poncho! Each item is available for 35 reward points.

Mafia Wars VIP Membership Program

Some players are getting a test popup for a “New VIP Membership”. You are promised “amazing benefits” to include extra help in the form of additional property parts, special loot and crew, extra skill points for level ups and the ability to exchange city cash every week (for 10 reward points). You get 50 skill points for signing up and they promise more. The cost varies depending on which popup you get but if you buy months in bulk, it’s a little cheaper. There is a 12 Month option but not many aren't confident the game will be around that long. I wouldn't make an investment like that.

Last Day For Ice Season: 18

There are less than 12 hours left for Ice Season 18. Many won’t complete this one because Zynga shorted us a day. There were also multiple issues affecting gameplay throughout the weekend. Once it appeared that most were able to play Mafia Wars again, Zynga pushed out the Insurrection In Italy Limited Time Mission. The Mission requires a total of 100 ices and the fight list has been populated with players who are already iced. If any event needs an extension, it’s this one!

Collectable Stat Card Update

Many asked what was going to happen to the Crime Ring Series Reward Card once Italy shuts down. The bonus loot item you can get is the Sea Dawg and it drops in any of the jobs of the Palermo Tier.

How To Copy/Paste Bonus Links

A few days ago, I changed the format of the daily bonus links because many requested that they be shown in the summary post. Many complained that they could no longer copy the links to share them. For those who don’t know the ins and outs of copy/paste, this outline should help. If you copy by highlighting (copy or control +C), the link will appear as the text when you paste it.

New Marketplace Loot: Possible Fight Club

Eight new items were added to the inventory. They showed up as “Changed items” on the Inventory History Spocklet because the stats were lower when they were initially added. The good news is the items all increased in stats and this is a big clue as to what they will be for. It’s possible they could be the new Loyalty Program Shut Down Event items but I really think they are for a Fight Club update.

Free Gift From Mafia Wars: Size Does Matter

Zynga is giving us another free loot item in the same manner they did for the Party Animal and the Bearded Dragon. If you go to Zynga Customer Support, you will find an article called How to get your “Size does Matter”. Zynga makes it seem so easy and to some players it probably is. Loyalty Program Shut Down

Zynga has finally added certainty to the rumors that the Loyalty Program was going to be discontinued. Many see this as another sign that the game itself will soon follow. This should come as no surprise because I told you it was going to happen back in December (1) . For some reason the closure was delayed. There is now a countdown timer for a grand finale event of this failed program.

Insurrection In Italy Mission Walkthrough

The Insurrection In Italy Special Mission Event consists of only 6 parts. There isn’t a lot of waiting time and I think many will be able to complete it within 8 days. When the timer runs out at 9:30 PM (Pacific Time) on 6th March, 2012, Italy will be shut down. If you have questions about what this all means, Zynga posted a FAQ on the Official Blog. We will no longer be able to access Italy which includes our Lira, collections and most devastating our Italy properties including the Port! I'm not sure what they will do with Extreme Missions because many of the tasks require jobs or property collections/purchases in Italy.

Collector’s Edition Item: Beekeeper Suit

The Tuesday Collector’s Edition Item is the Beekeeper Suit. It comes with +10 health and will set you back 46 reward points.

Insurrection In Italy

It was 12 days ago when we told you that a server image of a Mission banner called Insurrection In Italy was discovered (1). Some doubted it was real and a few days later it was pulled (1). The doubters were proved wrong when the announcement of the closure of Italy came in the form of a popup today. Many of the loot items that were added to the inventory 4 days ago are for this event (1).

Extreme Mission #12 Update

Many are just now discovering the ridiculous task on Extreme Mission #12 which requires you to “Buy 50 Items From Your Warehouse”. I posted the bad news here about a month ago but I don’t think it sinks in until you get there! You can only purchase one item every 23 hours so if you don’t use reward points, it will take 48 days to complete.

Family Progression Level 10

The {ASS} Family reached Level 10 in Family Progression today. It was fun to go back and compare the estimated time it would take to go from Level 9 to Level 10 to the actual time. On November 8th of last year we reached Level 9 and predicted it would take 93 days to get to Level 10 (1). It actually took 112 days. With everything that can and does go wrong with the Family Module, it wasn’t a bad estimate.

The Defendor! by Team Spockholm

Last week I showed you a Spocklet in early development which will add loot items to your family properties (1). At the time it was called Family Defense Manager. It is now available for all users and has been renamed “The Defendor!”. Players who use it will find things much easier than the system supplied by Zynga.

Property Part Request Glitch #2

Yesterday I posted the details of how the different Property Part requests work and how to utilize that information to formulate the best strategy to upgrade your Cage Fight Arena (1). The post also contains information on how to utilize a glitch affecting the Any Part requests. Today, Owen “Mw-Only” Parker shared a glitch involving the Individual Part requests on the Mafia Warts Loot Lady Fan Page (1). You are now able to request all three individual property parts every 8 hours and each post will work and behave like a Individual Part request. To take advantage of this glitch before Zynga fixes it, follow the instructions below.

Mafia Wars: Informant Podcast Episode 142

The whole crew returns for another mind tingling episode. Pistol Pete discusses his perspective on the use of scripts and the overall benefits in the game. Especially on a personal basis with no impact on other players in the game. In addition, there have been a couple of new Spocklets, the Defendor, and The Bookie Boss Fighter for the new secret district. In addition there has been updates to Repeatjob, and Gift Blaster. Jen fills us in on the bandits feature of the new district, and there is a bit of confusion of the Sniper role. It seems like the sniper added to the crew might prevent the bandits. Since it shows in the jobs section of the crew list. However, it seems the only purpose of the sniper is to eliminate the bandit once it shows. So who knows. Why bother adding it to the crew options. Since it is not really a crew member to activate.

Gift Blaster & Stream Scanner Updates

The Gift Blaster was recently updated to include an option to search for specific players. You will this functionality right above the start button. All you need to do is click on the “Select people by name” link and a search bar will appear.

Carnival Mystery Bags Return & Get Pulled

UPDATE: This may have been an error on Zynga's end. My accounts that had the Carnival Mystery Bag banner no longer do. Others saw the same thing so I know I didn't imagine it (1).

Now that Mardi Gras is over, Zynga decided to re-release Carnival Mystery Bags. The last round of these special Mystery Bags stuck around for 2 days. Hopefully these will remain longer. If you need more details about Carnival Mystery Bags, go here. These appear to be on a slow rollout and not every account has them yet.

102 {ASS}es?

Yesterday the {ASS} Family noticed that we have 102 members. I have no idea why this is. Last week someone used an exploit and hacked into our family. They were able to kick all but 26 members out (1). I don’t know if Zynga has patched this but in order to prevent it from happening again, we promoted all players to Underboss and added alternate accounts to fill our empty spots. As we recruit new players, we remove the filler accounts. I don’t know if this practice caused our family size to increase to 102 or if our hacker is still able to gain access into the family. I actually counted the number of players on our roster and it is 102. With all the alternate accounts we had to add to our family in order to protect ourselves, I don’t know who shouldn’t be there.

Facebook Disruptions and Game Access Issues

Something is going on in Facebook and many can’t play Mafia Wars because of it. If players are lucky enough to access Mafia Wars, they are unable to post any requests. Very slow loading times for Facebook and Mafia Wars are being reported as well. I went to http://downrightnow.com/facebook and there was a widespread service disruption 13 minutes ago. There wasn’t anything posted on the Facebook Known Issues Page.

Property Upgrade Strategy

It seems every time Zynga releases a new Limited Time Upgrade Property, something changes with the way the upgrade requests work. Other than a bug affecting the individual part requests (it was fixed), things appear to be the same with the Cage Fight Arena as they were with the Hangar. Whenever I post my “Any Part” requests/links, my inbox becomes populated with messages asking me how I able to make multiple posts. It involves a bug on Zynga’s end. This bug has been around for quite sometime and we have gotten many questions about it on the fan page. I will outline the method I use to do this. There are probably more efficient ways but this one works best for me and I don’t need to download or install anything I’m not already using on my computer. If this glitch gets fixed, don’t blame me. I'm not the first to post about it.

Cage Fight Arena: 623 Parts Needed

Thanks to help of some fast building members of our community, we now know it will take a total of 623 parts to fully upgrade the Cage Fight Arena to Level 15. I was able to fill in the chart below thanks to Fione, Robert and The Hoff as well as confirm these numbers from others who posted on the fan page. If you want to upgrade at a faster pace, stay tuned for a post which will outline the best current strategy.

Bunker Bonus Increase

About an hour or so ago, many players started reporting that the equipment defense bonus for the Bunker magically jumped up 1,000 points. You can see from the image below that the {ASS} Family has a Level 7 Bunker but our bonus is +8,125. The maximum it should be at Level 7 is +7,000 and the maximum of a Level 8 Bunker is +8,000. You can see our health score is over 100%.

Collection Pages Pulled

When Cuba, Moscow and Bangkok were removed from the game, the collections from those destinations remained and players could still vault/re-vault them. The trading community took another hit from Zynga because these collections are no longer accessible. Collection items from these destinations were of some value because you can no longer acquire them from in game and trading was the only way.

New Boss Fight & Special Event Loot: 2/24/12

A new set of rare Family Boss Fight loot items were added to the inventory. Many suspected that the Ice Queen would be the last one but this is a good sign that there will be more. The super rare item that many won’t get is the Green Tree Python and has stats of 202/202. The other 16 items added are labeled "Special Event". This could mean anything from Lucky Stash loot, Special and Collectors Editions loot, Crates or anything Zynga wants it to be. The Supersonic Wave Blaster has no stats so it's most likely a consumable item of some sort.

Ice Cycle Blooper

Earlier in the week, a banner for the Ice Queen was added to the Home Page (1). The featured Grand Prize item was the elusive Ice Cycle. It looks cool but something isn't right.

Collector's Edition Item: Toucan

The Collector’s Edition for Friday is the Toucan. I wonder if he is related to Toucan Sam? If you have to have him, he will cost 35 reward points.

Group Sale Item: Mobile Fallout Shelter

The new Group Fail item is the Mobile Fallout Shelter. If you want this item, keep in mind that it won’t go past the Silver Level. The best stats you can hope for are 92/142. You would be much better off buying a Origami Crate (1). The stats are better and you will only pay 12 reward points instead of 15. Zynga needs to lower the numbers needed to advance to the next level or these will keep failing. Getting more players is probably not an option for them at this point.

The Cage Fight Arena

The new Limited Time Upgrade Property is called the Cage Fight Arena and is now available to be upgraded. We are given 15 days to get the task done. The Hangar was on a 14 day timer but there were multiple feed issues along the way and 2 days were added. Maybe Zynga is taking a preemptive strike and giving us an extra day. I showed you tiny server images of this property and it was hard to guess what it could be (1). We figured it out once the loot items added to the inventory had a Cage Fighter theme (1). Be prepared to spam and be spammed as you enter the Spamfest Arena!

Ice Season: 18

Historically Ice Seasons have always started on Tuesdays. The last one came out on a Wednesday and now Ice Season 18 starts on a Thursday. Many believed we were going to get another week off. Instead of a 7 day timer, we got stuck with a little under 6 days to get 1,000 ices. Maybe they forgot to turn it on yesterday. It’s going to tough for some to make this happen!

The mastery reward is Ed The Mechanic. Just like all other Ice Seasons, you only get one item which is rewarded once the timer expires. The more ices you get, the better the stats will be.
